Creative Aging Celebration 2022

The Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is hosting free Creative Aging Celebration community events throughout the month of June, starting with a kick-off event at the Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) on Friday, June 3rd between 4pm and 7pm during Montpelier's ArtWalk.

Join us on June 3rd in The Gallery in College Hall at VCFA (on the green) for an engaging art exhibit and fun creative aging activities. The exhibit will feature creative work by participants from CVCOA's Creative Care Kit project and art work by older adult artists from Central Vermont. Food and drink will be available for sale during the event through Cafe Anna.

Following this kick-off event, CVCOA will be hosting local Creative Aging Celebration events throughout June at our local partner nutrition programs. These events will include a congregate meal, an art exhibit, and a creative aging activity. The complete list of local events will be released soon.

Funds raised during these events will support CVCOA's Creative Aging Initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to provide creative aging opportunities for older adults in the community, including homebound older adults. The Creative Care Kit project was the first project for this initiative, and continues to provide skills-based, practice-focused, and social-centric opportunities for people in their homes. CVCOA is also looking at additional programs and projects for the initiative, and ways that we can continue supporting creative aging as an integral component of healthy aging.
